Westfield Big Red Band
Color Guard
Our Guard
The Westfield Color Guard is an award-winning program of excellence. Our members learn essential life skills like time management, teamwork, and self-confidence while making new friends and having a blast. It’s about being your best and having fun along the way.
Modern-day Color Guard mixes flags, sabers, mock rifles, and dance. Our guard members are incredibly talented and have gained recognition on a national level. As a member of the Westfield Color Guard, members are highly committed to striving for excellence in all areas of their performance.
We would love to continue growing our program through community awareness and involvement, starting with you!
Summer & Fall
The Westfield Color Guard is integral to the Big Red Marching Band. Our nationally recognized marching band boasts over 150 members and has won numerous awards.
We kick off our season in July, and rehearsals run through the end of October, culminating in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Area/State Marching Contest. The Color Guard performs with the Big Red Marching Band at all football games and competitive marching contests throughout the fall.
It is an incredible experience to be a part of the Westfield Color Guard, and we are always looking for new members to join our team!
Winter Guard
In November, our focus turns to our Winter Guard program. Winter Guard focuses on performing indoors and competing against color guard teams. Winter Guards are found in high schools, middle schools, universities, and independent organizations.
We create a new show for the Winter season and compete in two winter guard circuits, similar to marching band: the local Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC) and the international Winter Guard International (WGI) circuit.
Performing in the Winter Guard is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills and compete with some of the best color guard teams. You will get to be a part of a tight-knit group of performers who are passionate about what they do!
